This brooch was originally designed for the annual First Lady's Luncheon. Crafted in sterling silver clad in gold tone and set with faux seed pearls. Measures 1 1/2" x 1 1/4". 

On July 4, 1776, three of our founding fathers; Benjamin Franklin, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson were given the task of creating a seal for the newly formed United States of America. This symbol of Sovereignty was adopted in 1782 from the early design suggestions of these 3 great men. The Secretary of State is the official custodian of the Great Seal of The United States.
